Combination Skin Treatments
Treating Specific Skin Concerns with Advanced Protocols
Advanced Modality Combination Skin Treatments
The Benefits of Combination Skin Treatments
Combination skin treatments blend structured protocols into a multi-modality approach to skin repair, in a way that using a single treatment option cannot achieve. Our advanced protocols use structured steps with combinations that may include HydraFacial, pHformula skin resurfacing peels, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Dermalux LED light therapy, radiofrequency skin tightening, and homecare kits for optimal skincare.

Each programme of treatment is designed to incorporate preparation and correction to treat multiple skin concerns, including skin ageing and photodamage, redness and vascular concerns, including rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne and the management of breakouts and congested skin, in one coherent plan with layered steps. Results, including calmer, clearer, firmer, and more even-toned and textured skin, build over time, with predictable increments after each treatment session.
Step by Step with Combination Skin Treatments
Our advanced combination protocols create stepped treatment sessions that usually last over an hour per session. We begin by preparing the skin to start with a good foundation for the delivery of active ingredients and energy-based treatments. By removing impurities, dead skin, and oils, we create an optimal starting point for absorption and to reach and treat the targeted skin layers.

From there, we introduce skin resurfacing peel actives from pHformula aimed at addressing specific underlying concerns, Intense Pulse Light (IPL) light wavelengths targeted to treat redness or pigmentation, radiofrequency energy to cause tissue tightening and lifting, or LED light therapy to calm inflammation, promote healing, or kill acne-causing bacteria. Skin is left hydrated, nourished, and further optimised with homecare products.

Answers to Your Questions, All in One Place.
HydraFacial embodies the philosophy of Skin Health for Life, and uses patented Vortex hydradermabrasion technology to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, and hydrate the skin.
Ampoules of specialised booster serums can be included to deliver targeted ingredient combinations containing powerful antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid that nourish, hydrate, counteract free radical damage, or fuel natural skin correction.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) delivers pulses of broad-spectrum light into the skin to improve its appearance through a process called photorejuvenation, targeting unwanted pigmentation and vascular imperfections, like redness, rosacea, and broken capillaries. IPL emits several wavelengths of light energy, measured in nanometres (nm), that are attracted to different targets within the skin — melanin and haemoglobin — allowing it to be used to target multiple skin concerns at once.
Radiofrequency treatment uses electromagnetic energy waves to deliver controlled heating of the collagen-rich layers of the skin, initiating immediate skin tightening and ongoing remodelling by stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin, creating a firmer, more robust framework, or collagen network, within the skin. Skin is lifted and tightened, with improvements to laxity and tone.
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) emit specific wavelengths of bright light that can be used for therapeutic purposes, in a treatment called phototherapy or LED light therapy. The Dermalux LED system is a medically certified device regulated as a Class IIa medical device in the UK. Within the head of the machine, there is an array of three different types of Light Emitting Diodes, delivering different wavelengths or colours of light, including red light, blue light, and near-infrared light, which all have different impacts on the skin. Red light helps reduce redness and inflammation, making it perfect for rosacea flares, and it stimulates collagen production to improve skin tone, texture and hydration. Near-infrared light stimulates cellular activity at the deeper skin levels to trigger wound healing responses. Blue light kills off acne-causing bacteria, reduces oil production, calms irritation, and lowers the incidence of acne breakouts.
As the old saying goes, "many heads are better than one", and this is the case with combination skin treatments. Each of the components or treatment types we offer at Forever Facial Aesthetics has been carefully selected for its unique impact on skin and the evidence-based results that we know it can deliver. Different topical ingredients or energy-based components like HydraFacial, IPL and LED light, or radiofrequency work optimally at different layers of the skin — including within the epidermis and dermis. By combining the efficacious qualities of each treatment modality into curated advanced protocols, we can create synergy, and all the components will work together to address your particular skin concern better than if we only used one as a standalone treatment.
All the protocols within the various combination skin treatments that we offer at Forever Facial Aesthetics are minimally invasive and carry little to no downtime. You may experience slight redness and swelling immediately after treatment due to exposure to light and heat energies, and deep cleansing with HydraFacial and skin peels. Treatment will naturally increase the microcirculation in the skin, leaving you flushed for a few hours.
Depending on the protocols used for your skin concern, redness, swelling and tenderness may last for up to 48 hours. Skin may also feel tight and tender for a short time after radiofrequency treatment.
We are unable to treat very dark skin tones (Fitzpatrick V-VI) with Intense Pulsed Light due to the increased risk of burns or pigmentary changes. If you have a history of abnormal scarring, including keloid scarring, you may also not be suitable for IPL treatments.
If you are currently taking, or have done with the last six months, any medication that makes you sensitive to light, including Isotretinoin (Roaccutane), you will be contraindicated for IPL and LED light therapy.
Similarly, we cannot treat you if you have a real tan (including sunbeds) or fake tan due to the increased risk of burns. You must have a minimum of four weeks without sun exposure and tanning on your face and neck to proceed with protocols involving IPL.
If you have been fitted with a pacemaker, electronic or metal implants or plates, we will be unable to offer the combination skin treatment that includes radiofrequency treatment.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we will be unable to treat you with our combination skin treatments until this stage of your life has concluded. However, we do offer certain pregnancy-safe MediFacial treatment options; just ask our team for details.
If you have an active infection on your face or neck at the time of treatment, including herpes simplex infections (cold sores), we will need to resolve this before treatment can begin.
Your full medical history will be discussed during the consultation to determine your suitability for the various treatment protocols, and a patch test will be conducted for IPL.
We use many of the pHformula targeted skin peels as part of the protocol for several of our combined skin treatments. To maximise the results of the in-clinic treatment and maintain the effects of the skin resurfacing for long-term improvements, we recommend the adjunctive homecare kits that are available to accompany each protocol. These include C.R. for chronic redness, A.G.E. for skin ageing, A.C. for acne clearance, and M.E.L.A. for hyperpigmentation. This optimal synergy will be discussed during your skin consultation.
A course of combination skin treatments works cumulatively to help improve and manage skin concerns. Each session builds on results, managing the underlying problem, and improving your overall appearance and complexion. You will begin to see skin improvements almost immediately, depending on the protocol and programme, and again in the weeks between each treatment session. Several of the modalities we use work within the skin to stimulate cellular changes, including collagen production and pigmentation or redness elimination; this natural repair will continue in the weeks after your final treatment session.
This will depend on the skin concern we are targeting, your skin type, medical history, underlying diagnosis, and continued management and aftercare, especially with chronic conditions like rosacea and acne. Problem skin and concerns will continue to improve in the weeks after your final treatment, and our specialist skincare aestheticians will recommend a consistent skincare regimen for you to use at home to extend the benefits and keep your skin in its improved condition. You can expect the results to be long-lasting for redness reduction, pigmentation removal, and skin tightening, but they are still dependent on future ageing and lifestyle, such as continued sun exposure. We will advise a maintenance treatment regime for continued management, depending on your area of concern.
